Registration Policy

Initial Registration/Boundaries:  Any child who registers with MBGC must reside within the MBGC boundaries as established by the PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY BOYS & GIRLS CLUB. The Membership Chairpersons and/or Registrar may request proof of residency i.e. Prince George's County Tax Bill, W2 Form or other IRS Certification, Certification of residence from Prince George's County School (on School Letterhead), Deed, Lease Agreement, and Rental Agreement.  Any child living outside of MBGC’s boundaries must register within their own designated Boys/Girls Club Boundaries. MBGC will issue a refund of the household fee and sports fee to anyone who has improperly registered with Marlboro.

Grandfather Clause: Any properly registered child or children whose family moves outside of MBGC’s boundaries, has the option of continuing registration with MBGC or registering with the new club. If, however, that child chooses to register with the new Club, he/she may not return to MBGC. This also applies to any younger member of the same family who was not registered with MBGC, prior to the move. However, any properly registered child or children whose family moves out of Prince George's County may not continue to be a member of MBGC after the sport in which he/she is participating. 

Registration Options: Registration can be done in person, on designated dates, time and locations, or on-line, 24 hours/day during the registration period.  

On-line registration can be paid by credit card, Visa or MasterCard. There is a $3 fee per online transaction as charged by PayPal.

All Walk-up registrations must be paid by cash, check or money order only. No credit cards are accepted for walk-up registration.  Make checks payable to “MBGC”.

Important Notice: Space is on a first come/first serve basis. Some programs have limited space, so don't delay your registration.

Household Fee: The annual household registration fee is $75. This fee is valid from April 1, 2010, through March 31, 2011. All families registering for spring sport(s) are required to pay this fee (in addition to the applicable sports fee).  All families that did not register for a Spring sport but are registering for a Fall or Winter sport will be required to pay the household fee in addition to the sport fee. Household fees will not be waived. 

Household fees are non-refundable.

Sports Registration Fee:  This fee is charged per child, per sport and will vary depending on the sport. Uniforms and /or equipment costs are not included in the Sports Fees. 

Waivers for Sport fees can only be granted by the Commissioner of that particular sport.  No coach as authority to waive Sport fees.  If a Sport Fee waiver is granted, the Registrar must be notified by the Commissioner of the particular sport granting the waiver in writing, by email, fax or hand delivered, in advance of or at the time of the registration.   No verbal waivers will be accepted. The Registrar will keep a record of all waivers.

  Refund Policy for Sport Fees:  MBGC does not provide cash refunds. Sport Fee refunds will be made by check, payable only to the individual who registered the child, and are only granted under very limited circumstances: 

  • Medical Reasons
  • Child is too young or too old to participate
  • There is no team for the child to participate on
  • Child is injured after registration, but prior to the start of the season
  • Child resides outside of MBGC boundaries    
  •  

      It is the responsibility of the Sport Commissioner to ensure that the Registrar is informed of the need to issue a refund.   If a registered child cannot participate for any other reason than stated above, a credit voucher will be issued by the Registrar.

After you create an account you must pay the annual household fee before you can register for any sport. If you have already paid the HHF at the 2010 Spring Walk up Registration then please email Miyonna Campbell or Saneva Zayas and your account will be activated within 24 hours.                     

Once you have paid the Annual fee, PayPal will give you the option to return to the MBGC site.

Once you have returned to the MBGC site you are now able to register for a sport.

Here you will pick your sport and pay the same way you paid the annual fee, through PayPal.

If you are registering more than one child you will have to register them separately.

There is a 3% service fee for all transactions.
